Numerous synergies are at play between The Goat clothing brand and goGOGOgo’s working relationship which the founder of The Goat brand believes will take them places.
This was the feeling of The Goat brand founder Siphamandla Moyo from Diepsloot, who has partnered with the goGOGOgo NPO in Alexandra founded by Jane Simmonds which is based at the Itlhokomeleng Old Age Home on 8th Avenue.

Moyo (24), who founded The Goat brand last year and designs T-shirts, hoodies, and hats -hopes to branch into other clothing items in the future, said there were numerous synergies that his brand together with the goGOGOgo NPO.
“Firstly, the gogos are a group of grandmothers who look after their grandchildren in Alexandra, and I was also raised by my grandmother in Diepsloot, which is a baby township birthed by people moved from the banks of the Jukskei River in Alexandra.
“The third element is the meaning of The Goat brand, which is short for The Greatest of All Time. I took this from my grandmother, whom I often refer to as the greatest of all time for having managed to raise me single-handedly.

“So, these grandmothers and all other grandmothers in our country that single-handedly raise their grandchildren, are The Greatest of all time and I will always respect them for that,” Moyo said, explaining the origins of The Goat brand and the three synergies that bring them all together.
Moyo said he and his partner in the business, Mpho Ndlovu, were hoping to carve out a long-term working relationship with the goGOGOgo. “I also want to use the platform of the goGOGOgo to grow the brand which is borne out of love and caring for each other, an act more exemplified by my grandmother and these gogos.”
Simmonds expressed her gratitude for the T-shirt donation to the goGOGOgo NPO, saying it goes a long way in recognising the roles played by the grandmothers in upbringing their grandchildren.
