While the victory was a collective effort, the team’s attacking midfielder, Letta ‘Professor’ Mosima, stood out for her stellar performance, scoring two goals that shifted momentum in favour of Raycon.
“When the Sweepers scored their second goal and led us 2-1, I felt the game getting intense and had to figure something out. I then got a chance to poke the ball when it slipped out of the Sweepers’ goalkeeper,” she said, describing her equaliser that kept her team in the game.

She emphasised the importance of observation and strategic thinking in football, noting that these can help a player to come up with strategies. “It felt amazing seeing my strategies in progress until we won the game. I am happy that it worked for the team.”

Reflecting on the previous losses they suffered, first against Diepkloof Ladies and then against Wits University FC, Mosima said the defeats encouraged her to work harder on and off the pitch. “I was not afraid to lose the third game because I knew my skills were going to come in handy. I also believed in my teammates because I really could not have done any of those without them.”

With 14 games played this season, Raycon has won five, drawn two, and lost seven. Mosima acknowledged past mistakes but remains optimistic about future improvements, recalling the team’s dominant 10-1 victory over Croesus Ladies FC in March.

“Nothing beats a united team, whether with good or bad results. We shall stay united, work and play as a team.”
Having spent two years with FC Raycon, Mosima values the lessons learned on teamwork and interpersonal skills. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue performing at her best to help Raycon climb the league standings before the season ends.
