Midrand murder accused bail hearing postponed
The bail hearing for Ntokozo Mabasa, accused of fatally stabbing her 31-year-old boyfriend, has been postponed to October 1, after she appeared in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on a murder charge.
The bail application of Ntokozo Mabasa (22) accused of murdering her 31-year-old boyfriend, has been postponed by a week.

Mabasa made a brief appearance before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, facing a charge of murder after a fatal stabbing in Midrand on September 22.
State prosecutor Lufuno Maphiri told the court the state is opposed to Mabasa’s release on bail, and requested the matter be postponed to October 1.

Although Mabasa’s defence lawyer, Maanea Ramashia, argued that a seven-day delay was too long, Magistrate Reiner Boshoff granted the state’s request.
Mabasa will remain in custody until her next court appearance on October 1 for a formal bail application.
According to Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, officers responded to a complaint about a stabbing in Midrand on Monday. Upon arrival, they found a man with a stab wound to the upper body. He was declared dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation led to the arrest of Mabasa.
