Festive glam ham

Try this festive glam ham recipe from our friends at HTA School of Culinary Arts for Christmas.

Stop everything you are doing and head to the store buy ham to make this exceptional brown sugar mustard-glazed ham.

HTA School of Culinary Art wants you serve this to about 10 to 12 of your guests this festive season and they are sure to love you for it.

Method

1. Heat oven to 180°C. Using a sharp paring knife, score the ham with lines quarter inch deep and one inch apart, creating a diamond pattern (this will help the skin to crisp while cooking).

2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Place the ham, skin-side up, on the prepared sheet and cover with foil. Bake until warmed through for about one and half to one hour and 45 minutes.

3. Combine the sugar, mustard, one teaspoon salt, two teaspoons pepper, and two tablespoons water in a small bowl.

4. Remove the foil and brush the warmed ham with the glaze. Continue to bake, uncovered, basting the ham twice with the pan juices, until the skin is golden and glazed, 20 to 30 minutes more.

5. Let rest for 15 minutes before slicing perpendicularly to the bone and serve warm or at room temperature.
