Sipho Sethu Arts Project crowns its 2025 ambassadors
Sipho Sethu Arts Project’s 2025 pageant winners step into their ambassador roles, ready to inspire Alexandra through mentorship, and youth empowerment.
The Sipho Sethu Arts Project (SSAP) lit up East Bank Hall on Saturday with its dazzling 2025 Mr and Miss Sipho Sethu pageant.
The event, drew a lively crowd of Alexandra models, families, and community supporters. Now in its eighth year, the annual contest continues to empower young people through confidence-building, creativity, and community engagement.
This year’s event crowned winners across junior, teen, and senior categories, with each titleholder set to become an SSAP ambassador.
Among the standout victors was Bontle Mokwatle, who clinched the Miss SSAP Teen Queen 2025 title.
Mellisa Ndlovu triumphed in the junior category, while Llayla Bills stole the spotlight in the senior division, earning both Miss SSAP and Social Butterfly titles. Linathi Nobangelo was crowned King in the male contest.
SSAP founder Nomsa Motha praised all participants, urging winners to use their titles to uplift others.
“Let this be the beginning of a journey where you use your influence to inspire and impact others positively,” she said.
Motha also commended those who did not walk away with crowns, reminding them that SSAP is about growth, learning, and community spirit.

Runners-up and special category winners were also celebrated. In the teen division, Buhle Ndlovu and Hope Setati placed first and second runner-up respectively, while Nkateko Vilankulu and Tshisevhe Mashamba earned Teen Public Choice and Teen Butterfly titles.

Junior accolades went to Lwandle Thikazi (first runner-up), Onalenna Mashele (second runner-up and Public Choice), and Monwadi Chidi (Social Butterfly).
Senior female winners included Zandile Hlela (first runner-up), Joy Molepo (second runner-up), and Lizel Kgole (Public Choice). On the male side, Koketso Baloyi swept three titles, Mr SSAP first runner-up, Public Choice, and Social Butterfly, while Themba Mthethwa secured second runner-up.

Reflecting on this year’s event, Motha said there were notable improvements in stage presence, teamwork, and discipline. She said this reflects SSAP’s growing professionalism and reach.
As newly crowned ambassadors, winners will now participate in mentorship programmes, youth empowerment campaigns, and community development initiatives across Alexandra.
“They will also represent SSAP in upcoming events and projects that focus on education, self-development, and giving back to Alexandra.”
