Alex model glitters like diamond at Miss Gauteng Exclusive pageant

Alexandra’s own Rubina Burnham dazzled at the Miss Gauteng Exclusive pageant, clinching Miss Philanthropy 2025.

Gliding down the red carpet at the star-studded Cirk Theatre, Rubina Burnham lit up the stage with the brilliance of a refined diamond. She shone with purpose and a mission just as big her love for the Alexandra community.

Her journey from local platforms, such as the Sipho Sethu Arts Project and Mr and Miss Royal Elegance pageant, has led her to provincial recognition, culminating in her being crowned Miss Philanthropy 2025 at the Miss Gauteng Exclusive pageant, a title that honours not just her beauty, but her enduring service and impact. She was crowned on October 4 in Randburg.

“This opportunity gives me the platform to continue advocating, supporting, inspiring, and motivating the youth,” Burnham said. “I believe that this platform has given me the power to reach out to larger communities and make a positive change.”

Her advocacy focuses on child-centred support for dignity in education, helping children access the essentials they need to feel confident and remain in school. She also champions mental health awareness among young people, a cause she believes is critical to long-term community wellbeing. “This title matters because it shows that the impact I make, big or small, counts.”

The title also serves as testament of Miss Gauteng Exclusive’s recognition of Burnham’s philanthropic efforts. “Miss Philanthropy [was] awarded to the young woman who has demonstrated outstanding impact through her work and service within her community,” the organisation shared on social media.

The pageant noted that the titles, including Miss Philanthropy and Miss Public Choice, which was scooped up by another Alexandra star Letumiso Malandisa, carry as much value as their three main crowns. “Miss Gauteng Exclusive celebrates, not only beauty and leadership, but also hard work, diligence, and meaningful community impact,” the organisation noted on social media.
