Social grant payment dates announced
Sassa announces social grant payment dates for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced the payment dates for social grants for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The dates were approved by the National Treasury on March 23.
Sassa’s guiding principle is to pay grants as early as possible each month, carried over three days.
In most months, the Older Person’s Grant is paid on the 2nd, the Disability Grant on the 3rd, and the Children’s Grant on the 4th.

Payments will not be made on the 1st of the month, on a Monday, a day after a public holiday, or over a weekend. Should any date fall on a weekend or public holiday, payment will be made on the next working day.
The approved dates for April 2026 are:
• Older Person’s Grant: April 2 2026
• Disability Grant: April 7 2026
• Children’s Grant: April 8 2026
Beneficiaries are advised to note these dates. Further payment schedules will be released in due course.
