Western Boys show Batlokwa who’s boss
Batlokwa seemed to enjoy the Western Boys’ showboating merriment as they never attempted to disrupt it.
The nimble-footed youngsters of Western Boys FC showed who’s the boss. They were just too good for the Batlokwa FC side, which was thrashed 4-0. This was in an U13 Stream A match of the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association played at the Altrek Sports Complex on September 7. The Western Boys opened their scoring account midway through the first half of the game, in which each half consisted of 20 minutes.

Soon after the opening goal, the Western Boys keeper almost gifted Batlokwa a goal when he stylishly controlled the ball on the line with his fee and managed to clear the ball before the advancing pair of Batlokwa strikers could pounce.The two sides took to the oranges break with the Western Boys leading by a solitary goal. The Western Boys were at it again soon after the resumption of the second stanza of the game when their right-winger added a brace of goals to give his side a 3-0 lead.

At this juncture, the Western Boys players resorted to showboating their skills on the ball while at the same time entertaining the handful of spectators who came to watch the game. The final nail in the Batlokwa coffin was hammered in the dying minutes of play when a Western Boys player latched onto a looped ball and rattled the back of the net. This strike sealed victory for the Western Boys and the referee saved Batlokwa from further embarrassment when he blew his whistle to end what had become a tormenting experience for the losers.
