Alexandra Wolves Rugby Club calls for sponsors to strengthen community rugby

Alexandra Wolves Rugby Club is calling on sponsors to help fuel its next chapter of growth and keep Alexandra’s rugby stars shining.

For nearly two decades, the Alexandra Wolves Rugby Club has been a home for young talent, a place of discipline, and opportunity. Now, as the club marks its 19th year, it is calling on businesses, partners, and community leaders to join its journey through sponsorship.

“We have been developing young talent, building discipline, and creating opportunities through rugby in our community for 19 years,” said the club in a statement. “Now, we are looking for sponsors to help us grow even bigger and stronger.”

The Wolves believe that partnering with them offers more than just brand exposure. It is a chance to invest in youth development and to be part of a growing rugby family. “Your support helps with equipment and player needs, travel and match logistics, and coaching and development programmes.”

The club wants the potential partners to know that they are not just backing a team, they are backing a community. The call for sponsorship comes on the back of an extraordinary year. In 2025, Alexandra youth dominated rugby fields from local to national stages, proving the club’s impact on South African rugby.

Four Wolves players, two U16s, one U18, and one U20, were selected by Springbok selectors to represent Alexandra in the Western Cape. The club’s five U15 boys also earned places in the Golden Lions squad, representing Alex in the inter–provincial tournament. Additionally, two U14 girls and two U14 boys were chosen to represent the club in Durban. The club also had good representation in the national week competition. Eighteen Wolves players, nine U16 and nine U18, were selected to fly the Alexandra flag high.

These achievements highlight the Wolves’ role as a powerhouse of youth development and community pride. With sponsorship, the club hopes to build on this momentum, ensuring that Alexandra’s young rugby stars continue to shine on national stages. The Alexandra Wolves are inviting all who share their vision to step forward.
