Reggae artist Don Dada releases new single ‘Heal Mama Afrika’

JOBURG – The track 'Heal Mama Afrika' was meant to spread messages of comfort to the victims of families who were recently affected by the outbreak of violence in South Africa.

Reggae and hip-hop artist Menelik Nesta Gibbons, aka Don Dana, officially released a single of hope, healing and encouragement.

RuFF CuTT studio owner, humanitarian and recording multi-platinum albums released the new track titled, Heal Mama Afrika.

The single will be available on all digital services worldwide distributed by Beatroot Africa. The musician who was deeply disturbed by the unrest in Johannesburg said he is an African because his spirit cries for the soil.

Heal Mama Afrika is a track Don Dada felt compelled to record in a bid to spread messages of comfort to the victim families, acknowledge those affected by the tragic events while calling for peace and reconciliation of unity and harmony and love to change the narrative of the current events that affect Africa negatively.

The musician was quick to put out the plea to other social influencers when the violence broke out in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

“The word that reaches the furthest the fastest comes from social influencers so I encourage Africans at home and abroad to use your voice and platforms to encourage others to come together as one to build that better and progressive Africa #LetAfricaLead,” he posted at the time.

Rising to the challenge were producers Leroy Scarlett of Reggae Power House Band and Micheal Anthony McDonald in Kingston Jamaica and graphic designer PusherBeats.

Standing with pan-African brothers and sister at home and abroad, working towards a common goal to encourage a better, progressive Afrika the track Heal Mama Afrika was born.

Don Dada pioneers a new generation of hope as he shares his song calling for Africans to rise up and unite, with reminders that leaders Tata Madiba left us with that ‘we are not born with hate, it is something that is learnt’, inspiring everyone to not only feel and think positively but actually embody the unity and love for each other.

Marcus Garvey – a Jamaican political activist living in New York in the early 1920s – introduced the concept of ‘Africa for the Africans’ which dipels the idea that Africans could be considered foreigners in Africa.

Heal Mama Afrika is now available on all digital services worldwide from RuFF CuTT Studio.
