BEDFORDVIEW: Hijackers haul woman from car, shoot at security guard

Captain Andre de Jager said the men used rifles during the hijacking.

Bedfordview SAPS confirmed that three suspects are still on the run following a hijacking at a boom gate along Talisman Avenue in Bedfordview yesterday.

According to Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Captain Andre de Jager the men used rifles during the hijacking.

The men were captured on  CCTV footage forcefully removing a woman from her white Jetta before driving off.

“Two shots were fired at a security guard,” Capt de Jager said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspects used rifles during the hijacking.

He urged community members to be vigilant at all times.

“Should residents feel unsafe at any time they are encouraged to drive to their nearest police station for assistance,” he said.
