United Stars emerge victorious

Malvern’s United Stars Football Club won by a single goal, beating the Twilight Children’s Home Football Club.

The match was played at the Rhodes Park Sports Grounds on Saturday, April 19.

United Stars FC was the dominant team in the match with Twilight Children’s Home FC looking to break on the counter.

Despite the United Stars FC side being physically stronger, the Twilight Children’s Home FC side was able to score through some accurate passing and movement.

It was through United Stars FC’s stronger closing down, good passing and crossing that they were able to equalise. Moments late, after United Stars FC equalised, the team took the lead.

In the second half the Twilight Children’s Home FC was able to string a few passes and score the equaliser. At 2 all, most of the second half was a cagey affair with both sides playing cautiously and not wanting to concede.

It was a good passage of play by the United Stars FC that lead to the final score being 3-2 in favour of United Stars FC.

United Stars coach, Clark Motwa, said he was impressed with his team’s physicality and resilience to win the game. “We hope we can keep winning with this momentum”, said Clark.
