The Bedfordview Rebels beat the 69ers by five wickets in their Last Man Stands (LMS) match played at Jeppe Quondam on Sunday, May 4.
The 69ers batted first, with opener Nicky Smith being bowled out after facing three balls and only making one run. Next was batsman Christopher Swanepoel, who steadied the ship with some good batting.
He was bowled out after scoring 38 runs from 29 balls. He was the top scorer for the 69ers.
The 69ers scored 132 runs for the loss of seven wickets after 20 overs.
For the Bedfordview Rebels, it was opening batsman, Dean L, who showed signs of a fight-back when he scored 32 runs from 17 balls before being bowled out. Next was Michael Lowe, who managed 23 runs from 14 balls, before being bowled. The last man standing for the Bedford Rebels was Rui “Gummi” Jeronimo, who scored 23 off 14 balls.
The Bedfordview Rebels scored 134 for the loss of three wickets, after 15 overs. The Bedfordview Rebels won by 5 wickets.
