Be careful when parking in CBD

The Edenvale SAPS warned residents who will be submitting their tax returns to be careful where they park their vehicles.

Historically the Edenvale CBD and surrounding streets have been the target of motor vehicle thieves during busy times.

Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, warned motorists not to park in quiet side roads when visiting the offices of the South African Revenue Service (SARS) in Edenvale.

“Always be alert about where you park. Do not leave valuable items in your car and look out for suspicious-looking people,” Lt Col Roberts said.

He also warned motorists to obey the rules of the road when making use of the parking area provided.

“Do not double park and do not park on pavements and sidewalks. Members of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) will be out in full force to catch those breaking the rules of the road in the CBD,” Lt Col Roberts said.
