Constable Mpho Mashakane, Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said a man was at the corner of Jules and 4th streets when he was approached by someone.
The suspect kicked him and he fell down.
“The suspect took out a knife and demanded the leather jacket that the complainant was wearing. He gave him the jacket and the suspect ran away,” said Const Mashakane.
The man saw the patrol van passing by and he stopped the police officers.
He gave them a description of the robber and police officers found the suspect.
The robber was found in possession of the man’s jacket. Police officers arrested and detained him at Cleveland SAPS.
