Robbers still on the run

Two men who robbed a guest house in Belgravia on April 5 are still on the run.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said the owner of the guest house heard the doorbell ring and opened the gate.

“Two men entered and claimed they were looking for rooms to stay in. The woman sent her supervisor to show them one of the rooms,” said W/O Munyai.

Later the owner saw the supervisor coming out of the room with his hands up and one of the suspects holding a firearm.

“They told the owner to give them money and they took the safe keys. They opened the safe and took South African currency, American dollars, cellular phones and a landline phone,” said W/O Munyai.

The men fled on foot.
