A man has been arrested for bribery and dealing in dagga in Yeoville.

The incident occurred at a house in Jolly Street.

“Officers were on routine patrol when they went to a house in Jolly Street and searched the house. Inside the house, they found three men smoking dagga. The police arrested them for possession of dagga,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

While officers continued to search the house, the owner of the house took officers to his room, where there was more dagga.

“He tried to bribe the officers with R2 000, but they refused to be bribed,” said Constable Malatji.

He was arrested for dealing in dagga and bribery. He is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
