Fitness challenge encourages health awareness
The event will also include a dance competition, pop quiz and know your vitals event.
The 2013 BLU4U Know Your Vitals Team Challenge will take place at the Rietvlei Zoo Farm on November 10.
BLU4U is a men’s health awareness and fundraising event for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Keurboom Care Home in Belgravia and Gauteng Central.
All you need to do is enter a team to compete. Team members receive medals and become the defending champions for 2014.
Relays include a tug of war, battle of the boerie, Dukes Dog Academy father and son race, remote control aeroplane race, mountain bike ride and a fitness competition.
The event will also include a dance competition, pop quiz and know your vitals event. In the know your vitals competition, blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol and sugar will be checked.
Points accumulated decide the winner. Dress in team colours for your heat and take the family along as cheerleaders. The best dressed and supported teams will add to the score.
For those who will be attending, but not competing, there will be hobby exhibits, vintage car, bike and 4×4 displays.
There will also be loads to do for children. Take your picnic basket, braai or gazebo and enjoy a day out with the family.
Team entry is R50. Registration starts at 10am and the challenge starts at 11am on the day.
