Nursing association debates industry

The Allied Nursing Association of South Africa (ANASA), an association operating from Edenglen, held a spring breakfast recently.

The event was held on September 18 at the Gordons Institute of Business Science (GIBS) University.

The breakfast focused on enforcing compliance among nursing agencies that are currently not regulated by law.

Stakeholders in the healthcare industry were invited to attend, which included nursing agencies, private and public hospitals as well as private practitioners in Gauteng. The focus of the day was ensuring quality, compliant and ethical nursing agencies’.

Edenvale resident Leigh-Ann Georgiev, who is the national administration and communications manager for ANASA, presented ANASA’s role to the delegates and highlighted the importance of utilising ANASA agencies to ensure a minimum standard across the sector. ANASA is an association of which all healthcare agencies in the country are members. ANASA’s primary objective is to ensure the legal compliance of its members. These requirements are validated through specific criteria for membership. ANASA’s role in the industry is critical to ensure that agencies are compliant with the prevailing legislation.
