Bedfordview woman robbed at home

When she tried to go back to sleep, she heard another noise. She again went to investigate and this time found a man in the passage of her house.

A house robbery took place on Douglas Road in Bedfordview on January 23, during the early hours of the morning.

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabati, The resident was asleep in her home when she heard a noise from inside her home.

She went to investigate the cause of the noise but could not find what caused it.

“When she tried to go back to sleep, she heard another noise. She again went to investigate and this time found a man in the passage of her house. She ran to her room, attempting to lock herself in, but the suspect slammed the door open before she could lock it,” said Sgt Nhlabati.

Two additional men entered the premises and demanded money and jewellery from the victim. The men then searched the house before fleeing with jewellery and money.

The Bedfordview SAPS found that the men had force a window open to gain entry into the house.

No arrests have been made.
