Library gets new opening times
Patrons wishing to join the library should bring their ID book plus proof of residence, either in the form of a recent municipal account or a letter from a landlord.
With effect from March 1, the Modderfontein Public Library will operate between Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 5pm and on Friday and Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
The library offers a free book and magazine lending service.

Books available for borrowing include adult fiction and non-fiction, teen fiction and large print books.
The children’s section contains a wide selection of books and offers young readers an opportunity to relax on cushions with their books, or to sit at the kiddies tables.
A reference section is available and students are welcome to study at the tables in the peaceful setting of the library.
Monthly book sales are run by the Friends of Modderfontein Library, with a wide selection of books available at bargain prices.
Book sales take place on the first Saturday of every month from 9am to 1pm. Anyone interested in joining the Friends of Modderfontein Library should enquire at modderfriends@gmail.com or call the librarian on 011 608-0421.
