Little Eden Fête is almost here

Of the 300 residents, approximately 238 were previously abandoned and some come from indigent families who provide no financial support.

All the ducks are in a row for the Little Eden annual fête.

This popular, fun-filled day will take place on Saturday, March 1, at the Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale.

Residents are reminded that the theme for this year’s event it mystical Neverland.

The bested dressed Neverland character will stand a chance to win a prize.

Contributions to the bottle tombola stall of any unopened bottled item such as bath salts, wine, chutney or toiletries are still sought.

Alternatively, the society is still looking for crafts, books, plants, cakes and knitting and needlework items.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds to ensure the ongoing care of the home’s 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disabilities.

A shortfall of about R14-million a year has to be raised through various channels, including events like the fête.
