Residents negligent with security
When police officers or reaction officers from various security providers try to warn residents against opening themselves to crimes, they are sworn at.
During a recent security meeting, it was revealed that residents have become complacent when it comes to their own personal security.
“Residents leave their gates, security gates and doors open,” said Mrs McKenzie during her monthly report back at the Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF) meeting.
She added that when police officers or reaction officers from various security providers try to warn residents against opening themselves to crimes, they are sworn at.
“A number of crimes which have taken place recently can also be attributed to negligence by residents,” said Mrs McKenzie.
