A man was arrested for robbery in Yeoville, at the corner of Muller and Bedford Streets.
“The victim was walking to church when two men approached him from behind. The suspects grabbed the victim. A struggled ensued and the suspects eventually managed to overpowered the victim and take his cellular phone,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.
According to Const Malatji, the men fled the scene. “As they fled, a police van approached and the victim informed the police. The officers gave chase and managed to arrest one suspect a few blocks away,” said Const Malatji. The man is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
