Two men were arrested for the possession of stolen property in Yeoville on Friday, May 9.

“The police were on a routine patrol when they stopped two men who looked suspicious. On searching them, they found a car radio inside a plastic bag,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

According to Const Malatji, when questioned about the ownership of the car radio, they failed to prove it belonged to them.

“The men were unaware that the owner of the car radio had been to the police station to report a case of theft out of a motor vehicle,” said Const Malatji.

The men were arrested and are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
