Four men suspected to be involved in fraudulent activity were arrested at Greenstone Shopping Centre.
According to the acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, the men were spotted acting suspiciously at the centre on Thursday, June 12.
“Police officers were called to the scene. The men were found in possession of a large sum of money,” said Lt Col Roberts.
He added that further investigations revealed the men were also using a stolen motor vehicle.
“It is believed the men were part of a syndicate which followed people from banks before robbing them of their money and valuables,” said Lt Col Roberts.
The men appeared in the Germiston Regional Court on Tuesday last week.
