Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said police officers were patrolling Kensington when they picked up a signal from a tracking unit.
“They followed the signal and they ended up at a lodge in Queen Street. A silver Toyota Hilux was parked in the yard. It was gathered that the vehicle was hijacked in Brackendowns,” said Const Mashakane.
The police officers went to the reception area and asked to see the owner of the vehicle. A suspect (25) was arrested for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.
