Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said a man claimed he went to 4th Street in Malvern to drop off a colleague, a woman.
“The woman’s boyfriend came back home while they were still at the gate. He assaulted his girlfriend and when the victim tried to help, he was shot by the man,” said Const Mashakane.
The SAPS was notified and the man was arrested for attempted murder.
