Walking in aid of cancer awareness

The High Heel Fun Walk took place at the Schoenstatt Shrine on Florence Road in Bedfordview on Saturday, August 2.

The streets of Bedfordview were bright with the colour pink when people from all walks of life dressed in pink and took part in the annual High Heel Fun Walk in aid of cancer awareness.

The High Heel Fun Walk took place at the Schoenstatt Shrine on Florence Road in Bedfordview on Saturday, August 2. The event featured a two kilometre high heel walk, a five kilometre fun walk and a 10 kilometre fun run. All the funds raised will be donated to cancer charities. A donation will also be made towards the Schoenstatt Shrine Retreat.

“We decided to make the High Heel Fun Walk an annual event. In the past two years we have organised various walks with the aim of raising both awareness and much needed funds for various issues. Our walks are only possible with the support of generous sponsors and donors,” said the organiser, Ms Maria da Silva.
