Vehicle hijacked in Johannesburg recovered in Edenvale

Sector police patrolling in Elma Park noticed the vehicle at the Orion Building.

A vehicle hijacked from Eden Park in Johannesburg was recovered in Edenvale on Friday evening.

The acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, said sector police patrolling in Elma Park noticed the vehicle at the Orion Building.

“Officers suspected the driver of the vehicle may be up to something and stopped the vehicle. The driver was searched. Further investigations revealed that the vehicle had been hijacked earlier in the same week,” said Lt Col Roberts.

The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrested and taken to the Edenvale Police Station.

He appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
