A man was arrested for rape in Yeoville.
The arrest took place at the corner of Frances and De la Rey streets in Yeoville on Monday, August 11.
“The victim claimed she was drinking with the suspect and her boyfriend when she decided to go home and sleep,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.
According to Const Malatji, the suspect offered to accompany her and on the way, he took her to a room and raped her.
“When she woke up in the morning, she realised she was in an unfamiliar place and the suspect began to apologise for what he had done. She reported the matter to the police and the suspect was arrested,” said Const Malatji. He said the man is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon. @JoburgJourno
