Man caught for attempted murder, arson

A man was arrested last week by the Cleveland SAPS for petrol bombing a shop in Denver.

Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said on June 23 a man was in his shop when he heard noises outside.

Four shots were fired into his shop and a petrol bomb was thrown in. His goods caught alight.

“Two of the victim’s brothers sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital. Through investigations, one suspect aged 39 was arrested and detained at the Cleveland SAPS,” said Const Mashakane.

The man is facing charges of attempted murder and arson.
