Church hosts Women’s Day fundraiser
The event was well supported by residents and friends of the church
St Andrew’s Anglican Church held its Women’s Day Fundraising event on Sunday, August 10.
The event took place at the church situated on Ocean Street, Kensington. The fundraising event was organised by a team of women parishioners.
The event was well-supported by residents and friends of the church, who enjoyed a buffet lunch, inspirational talks and entertainment.
The master of ceremonies was Mrs Mpumi Nkosi-Stevens, who is a parish minister and warden at the church. Speakers included Ms Zanele Nkosi, a life coach, who spoke about the power of women.
The entertainment on the day included the Johannesburg Philharmonic Choir and Chad, who had the guest in stitches with his dance moves.
Members of the I Love Kensington Association (Ilka) supported the event and the chairperson of the organisation, Mrs Lornette Joseph, said they were happy to support the fundraiser.
“Ilka is proud to attend this fundraiser because it is for a good cause,” said Mrs Joseph. @JoburgJourno
