Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said the woman alleged she was in her shack when a man in possession of a knife entered.
“The suspect demanded money and threatened to kill her if she made a noise. The woman tried to defend herself. She was stabbed in her right arm. The man fled the scene with a cellular phone and wallet,” said Const Mashakane.
The woman screamed for help. Community members heard the noise, gave chase and apprehended the man.
The suspect (27) was arrested by the SAPS.
