Man hijacked, killed in Yeoville

The woman reported the incident to the police.

A woman’s fiancé was killed when the couple was hijacked in Yeoville.

The incident occurred at the corner of Regent and Phile streets on Tuesday evening, September 2.

“The victims were driving a white BMW along Regent Street when they were stopped by three unknown men at a stop sign. They were forced to drive around the area. The hijackers later dropped off the woman in Hunter Street and drove off with her fiancé,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

The woman reported the incident to the police.

According to Const Malatji, the police later received information of a body which had been dumped at the corner of Regent East and Fourie streets.

“On arrival, the officers found a man with his throat slit. The deceased matched the description of the hijack victim. The vehicle was later recovered, abandoned at the corner of Frances and Cavendish streets,” said Const Malatji.

No arrests have been made and Const Malatji appealed to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the Yeoville SAPS on 011 487-5921/2. @JoburgJourno
