Fraudster stopped, nabbed in Yeoville

Police found different particulars of people and identity documents belonging to different individuals.

A man in his early 30’s was arrested for possession of fraudulent documents in Yeoville.

The arrests took place at the corner of Hopkins and Cavendish streets on Tuesday, September 2.

“The police stopped a gold Opel Corsa and asked to search the occupants of the vehicle. The driver refused to be searched and the police insisted on searching the vehicle,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

He said the police found different particulars of people and identity documents belonging to different individuals.

“He was arrested for possession of fraudulent documents and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of fraud,” said Const Malatji. @JoburgJourno
