Angel of Mons celebrated

The Yeoville Community Police Forum (YCPF) Sector 3, in conjunction with the Observatory Estate Residents Forum (OERF), celebrated the Angel of Mons during a street party on Sunday, August 31.

The party was held in Mons Street, Observatory.

The celebrations were aimed at taking back the suburb and celebrating 100 years of history by commemorating the naming of Mons Street in 1914.

Speakers at the event included Mr Clint Harker, of the OERF, Mr Jerome Correa, the chairperson of the YCPF Sector 3 and Professor Katherine Munro, from the YCPF Sector 3.

Residents attended the event and used the opportunity to get to know their neighbours and enjoy a day out in the sun with family. @JoburgJourno
