Bedford Centre hosts Pop-Up Fashion Show

The festivities did not end there. The media were treated to a shopping feast as they were involved in a little fashion exercise.

The Bedford Centre turned an average Saturday morning of shopping into a pop-up fashion show, as unsuspecting shoppers became instant stars on the catwalk.

Giggles, smiles and the awkward look were only some of the facial expressions of the everyday consumer as Bedford Centre created an instant pop-up runway at the top of one of the escalators, making it impossible for shy shoppers to turn around.

As shoppers reached the top of the escalator, a red carpet awaited them with well-known media, bloggers and journalists cheering them on.

Well-known celebrities, such as television presenter Stacey Holland, actress and Strictly Come Dancing winner Zakeeya Patel, fashion designer JJ Schoeman, actors Athandwa and Thembisa Kani, Michaela Russell from Isidingo and model, Tamerin Jardine, were spotted at centre.

The festivities did not end there. The media were treated to a shopping feast as they were involved in a little fashion exercise.

They teamed up and came up with the best street fashion on the runway.

The pop-up fashion show was a teaser for the Centre’s #BedfordProjectStyle event to be held on October 4, with renowned international stylist for the BAFTA’s, royal family and celebrities, Sophia Branch. Shoppers will have the opportunity to find their style and fashion voice.

One consumer will win a guaranteed R50 000 Bedford Centre gift card, make-over and personalised fashion spree.

In order to enter the competition, one simply needs to spend R300 or more at any store at Bedford Centre before September 22.

The winner will be randomly drawn and have their make-over revealed at the #BedfordProjectStyle fashion show and event at 3pm.
