
The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a rape that took place in Bergvillein, KwaZulu-Natal.
A 13-year-old girl claimed that on September 6, she was at a family homestead attending a traditional ceremony.
She went to the toilet and the suspect followed her. She claimed she was raped in the toilet.
Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi said the suspect fled the province and came to Gauteng, where he stayed at the Jeppe hostel.
Police investigations continued until they traced him.
He was arrested on October 8, at about 10pm.
He has since been taken back to the Bergville SAPS.
