The Yeoville SAPS arrested a 24-year-old man for house robbery at the corner of Page and Forterque roads on Monday, October 6.

It is believed the victims were in the building, collecting stokvel money from members, when four armed men entered the building and threatened them.

Constable Thabo Malatji, from the Yeoville SAPS, said the suspects took R18 000 before fleeing the scene.

The victims asked security how the suspects gained entry. According to the security guards, the suspects claimed to be looking for a place to stay.

A docket was registered with the SAPS and investigations led to the arrest of one suspect, who is a security guard at the same building.

More arrests are expected and the suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
