Members of the Edenvale SAPS’ Crime Prevention Unit were conducting routine patrols in the Avenues this afternoon when they noticed a suspicious Toyota Avanza.

There were four occupants inside the vehicle.

According to the acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, the four occupants of the vehicle started acting suspiciously when they spotted the police vehicle.

“Officers ordered the vehicle to stop. The vehicle and the occupants were searched. Officers found implements used in residential burglaries as well as drugs,” said Lt Col Roberts.

He added that investigations are underway to determine whether the men could have been involved in an attempted burglary earlier today.
