38th Geddes Cup celebrates individual talent

The competition consists of two sections; the novice, for beginners and juvenile, for more experienced members.

Jeppe High School held its annual Geddes Cup, a long-standing tradition of the school for 38 years.

The competition offers individual members of the piping and drumming band an opportunity to display individual skills.

The winners in various categories were Malcom Chadwin (piping), Luka De Wet (snare drumming), Mandlenkosi Ndabula (bass section), Eric Cleaver (drill, dress and discipline), Brandon Holz (runner-up piping) and Jonathan Bosch (most improved bandsman and best novice piper).

The next competition will take place on May 16 next year.

The Jeppe drumming and piping band has also been invited to perform at the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland in 2015.
