Woman arrested for buying stolen property

A 24-year-old woman was arrested for possession of stolen property at Natal Street on Saturday evening.

Constable Thabo Malatji said the police received information about a woman who was in possession of property reported as stolen during a burglary in a residential area on Friday.

The police proceeded to the given address and when they arrived, a woman was found in the room.

POlice officers questioned her about the items and she claimed to have purchased them from an unknown person.

She was subsequently arrested and detained at the Yeoville SAPS. She is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.

Const Malatji urged residents to not buy stolen goods, as it is a criminal offence.
