A 37-year-old man was arrested in Yeoville for house robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The arrest was made at about 3pm on February 17.
According to Constable Thabo Malatji, the victim heard a knock on his door. When he opened the door, three men were standing outside. One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victim.
The suspects allegedly pushed the victim inside the house and stole a television set, jewellery, a cellular phone and money.
After the suspects fled the scene, the victim managed to alert the SAPS.
One suspect was arrested a few blocks away and an unlicensed firearm was recovered.
Const Malatji said the other two suspects are still at large and that police investigations are still continuing.
The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of house robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
