The SAPS applauded the Yeoville community for arresting a man who tried to steal from a vehicle in Yeoville on Saturday, February 21.
According to the Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, a 23-year-old man broke into a vehicle that was parked next to the corner of Raleigh and Bedford streets.
“A member of the community saw what was happening and notified the owner. The vehicle owner, together with other members of the community, confronted the suspect. They called the police and the suspect was arrested at the scene,” said Const Malatji.
He commended the community for the role they played in arresting the suspect.
“We would like to thank the community for the wonderful work they displayed in ensuring the criminal was brought to book,” said Const Malatji.
