A couple was tied up and locked inside a house under construction, along Highland Road in Kensington on April 10.
The incident occurred shortly before 10pm.
The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the husband was hooking a trailer to his van when he was approached by six men.
“One of the men pointed a gun at the husband. They forced him and his wife into the house they were renovating. They then tied the victims up with electrical wires. The men took a cellular phone, an undisclosed amount of money and fled in the couple’s vehicle,” said Const Mashakane.
