Rhoma helps feral cats

While the relationship has taken over a year to build up, Ms Sidwell believes the kittens can be homed.

Seven trusting cats and kittens have found a life-long friend in Edenvale resident, Ms Rhoma Sidwell.

She feeds them daily, along the busy Linksfield Road where they patiently wait for her to arrive.

After a breakfast meal of tinned fish and cat pellets, the cats make their way back to the construction site where they live.

“There is a security guard on the property and I think he has also been feeding the cats, but he can barely feed himself let alone seven other mouths.

While the relationship has taken over a year to build up, Ms Sidwell believes the kittens can be homed.

“They have learnt to trust, especially the smaller ones. They are not scared to come close to humans and some will even let you touch them,” she told the NEWS.

With winter setting in, Ms Sidwell hopes residents will assist her in finding homes for the tame kittens.

“Maybe the older cats can also find homes,” she said.

Ms Sidwell would at least like to see the cats and kittens sterilised to prevent in-breeding and diseases.

“Any help would be much appreciated,” she said.

Anyone who is interested in helping Ms Sidwell can contact her on 082 601 0459.
