Parents can prevent teen drinking

The use of alcohol by underage teens has grown tremendously throughout the years and constantly remains a concern in many communities.
The abuse of alcohol can be due to many reasons, consequently being exposed to it in public areas, having parents who are victims of alcohol abuse or parents not communicating the dangers thereof.
Many teenagers are therefore open to drinking at early ages because parents may lack the necessary control of the situation, or do not address the consequences of teen drinking.
Furthermore, as parents, the responsibility of being well informed about teenage drinking will result in the ability to have better conversations, which is likely to reduce any chances of becoming a victim of teen drinking. It is of great importance for parents to listen to their children and to develop an open relationship to address the issues of alcohol abuse and assure their children that they are open to such topics among other questions they may have.
