Elderly woman’s skeleton found – two years after she died

The remains of a body were discovered inside a locked room in the house.

A remains of an elderly woman were found in a home on Erasmus Road, Edenvale.

Members of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) received complaints about a premises in Edenvale which led to the discovery of the remains.

“The EMPD officers responded and then alerted us to the remains in the house,” said Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, from the Edenvale SAPS.

According to Lt Col Roberts, the remains were found inside a locked bedroom in the house.

“We do not want to assume anything at this stage, but it could be the owner of the house,” said Lt Col Roberts.

According to Lt Col Roberts, paramedics believe the remains to be about two years old.

Lt Col Roberts said a full investigation will be conducted.
