Daily devotionals spread inspiration
Her daily devotions are also emailed to a database of friends who love receiving her inspirational messages.
Ms Ann Goodfellow, a resident of Thornhill Manor retirement village, gives thanks every day for life’s little gifts and helps other people to do the same.
The author of six Christian books, she writes a daily devotion that goes into a weekly prayer guide for the Germiston Methodist Church and the Church on the Way in Modderfontein, which is headed up by her son Mark.
Her daily devotions are also emailed to a database of friends who love receiving her inspirational messages.
Her first book was accepted for publication in 2008, the year she turned 71.
“I had begun writing prayers and devotions more than 25 years before, through a weekly prayer letter for my church. I enjoyed writing, but never thought of publication. After I retired, God kept prompting me to write books,” she said.
The first book took over three years to put together and many more years of rejection from publishers.
Today, her six books are available in printed form as well as eBooks, and are available in most parts of the world, except South Africa.
“It is frustrating,” she said of the difficulties experienced in getting her books accepted by local bookstores.
Despite the difficulties, Ms Goodfellow has distributed many of her books in SA through a network of friends and contacts.
Her books are titled ‘God is Waiting to Meet You’, ‘God Wants You to Know Him’, ‘God Wants to Bless You’, ‘God’s Promises’, ‘Today is No Ordinary Day’ and ‘Encountering God’.
The books are available from anngood@iafrica.com, or as Kindle and print books from Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Evangelista Media.
